Because Puck tagged me. And I'm not studying. At all.
"Old English? What's that?" *wink*

Dreamweaver- a song by Kansas. And it just sounds nice.

9. Are you musically inclined?
Not at all. Wish I was, though.
10. What would you do if you woke up one morning and found out you were on cocaine?
That's totally preposterous, but if it did happen, I'd see what the big deal about a high is.
11. If you could go back in time and change something, what would it be?
Nothing. I am who I am today because of my actions and choices. If I changed any of that, I wouldn't be the same person.

Does lip-syncing count? (Long story.) *grin
23. What's the first thing you notice about the OPPOSITE sex?
Physically - eyebrows. Otherwise, intelligence.

Something I Rustled Up Yesterday.
I'm bored sick of Old and Middle English, and Renaissance Literature, so I turned back to my old, ever-dependable friend yesterday- cooking. Made pomfret maach for lunch, which came out amazing, prompting Ma to say that I made it even better than her.And above- that's chicken, flavoured with tok doi, dhonepata, green chilli, pepper, chaat masala, and longkar aacharer oil.
And yes, it's my own invention. It came out rather brilliantly.
I always feel so much better after spending some time in the kitchen. The tension almost literally flows out.
Cooking is therapeutic indeed. *grin*

Bombay Under Attack.
How many more innocent people have to die before our Government does something? How many more gunshots must we hear before security levels are tightened?
And how many more terrorist attacks must we be subject to before we can finally feel protected?
It's appalling how lax security is- now even the poshest of areas are being targeted. And our Ministers are still talking about "Taking stringent measures" and "Formulating anti-terror policies".
*sigh*
Isn't it time they stopped talking and actually DID something?
Or will they use this incident as an opportunity for mud-slinging?
Where do these terrorists come off killing innocent people in the name of God? How do they have the audacity to target posh hotels, seize police cars, and open gunfire on the public?
It's sad when you can't feel safe in your own country. Sad when not just innocent people are targeted, but the country's economy, tourism and infrastructure as a whole. And it's heartbreaking when we switch off the News and go back to leading our lives.
It's time we woke up and did something. It's time for pro-active measures, and not just talks and speeches.
It's high time this nonsense stopped. It's frustrating, it's cruel, and it's making our country an eyesore on the global scene.
My heart goes out to all those killed/injured/affected in the terror attacks.

Here Without You.
"These wounds won't seem to heal,
This pain is just too real,
There's just too much that time cannot erase."
- Evanescence (My Immortal)
It's been 5 years today, and I miss you more with every passing moment.

Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur.
- That means, "Anything said in Latin sounds profound."
Don't believe me?
Here's a list of some of the most idiotic stuff you could say in Latin, translated. Sounds wise and impressive initially, but wait till you read the English equivalent!
Thanks to Rajarshi Sen for being a great Gtalk partner and discussing this with me. *grin*
And also, thanks to the Internet for being a many-splendoured thing. You can literally find everything on it.
Fac ut vivas! - Get a life!
Vacca foeda - Stupid cow.
Aio, quantitas magna frumentorum est - Yes, that is a very large amount of corn.
Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus ventosissimis exponebantur ad necem - In the good old days, children like you were left to perish on windswept crags.
Anulos qui animum ostendunt omnes gestemus! - Let's all wear mood rings!
Ascendo tuum! - Up yours!
Gradus Anus Rodentum! - Not worth a rat's ass!
Non plaudite. Modo pecuniam jacite - Don't applaud. Just throw money.
Qualem blennum! - What a doofus!
Qualem muleirculam! - What a bimbo!
Bovina Sancta! - Holy cow!
Capillamentum? Haudquaquam conieci esse! - A wig? I never would have guessed!
Caro putridas es! - You're dead meat!
Carpe Cerevisi - Seize the beer!
Cogito ergo doleo - I think, therefore I am depressed.
Cogito sumere potum alterum - I think I'll have another drink.
Da mihi sis crustum Etruscum cum omnibus in eo - I'll have a pizza with everything on it
Vir prudens non contra ventum mingit - A wise man does not urinate against the wind.
And the most brilliant of all...
Estne volumen in toga, an solum tibi libet me videre? - Is that a scroll in your toga, or are you just happy to see me?

The Days Are Going By.
Yes, they are. Pretty quickly. It'll be 2009 before we know it. Tempus fugit, indeed.
I gave a disastrous test on Philology today. Gah to C.L. Wrenn. I nearly fell asleep yesterday, while studying. I'm not joking. It really is that boring. Heart-'wrenn'chingly dull. (What would I do without PJs to sustain me?)
I have been overdosing on Pasta lately- made it in different ways for the last three days straight. And, oh yes, I've been overdosing on cheese too.
Watched 'Serendipity' on Tuesday. I'd seen it before, of course, watched it again after ages. It's a really nice movie. Not your typical sappy romance movie.
And here's a colourful pair of socks Guppy sent me from Delhi. Pretty, yes?

The Little Things.
It's amazing how the little things in life can make us smile.
Like the steam rising from a fresh cup of coffee. The feel of a warm blanket on a cold, cold night. The voice of a loved one. The sound of laughter. The hug of a friend.
Sometimes, we tend to take things for granted. We're prone to thinking why we didn't get this or that, instead of feeling happy at what we have right now. Sometimes, to keep track of what's really important, we need to say a little thank you for the little things in life that make us content.
So here goes...
I'm very thankful for having such a wonderful family, such lovely cats, and of course, such amazing friends. You all brighten me up.
P.S. - I'm also thankful for a little place called Tibetan Delight. *wink*
